Reentry housing is time-limited by design, and the length is set so it covers the stretch when the risk is highest rather than ending in the middle of it.
Your stay gets reviewed with your case coordinator. If it is coming to an end, you know well in advance and the next step gets planned with you.
What You Walk Into

Your room is furnished before you arrive. Bed, storage, and the basics already there, because most people leave with what fits in one bag. Private and shared bedrooms are both available.
It is a house. Shared kitchen, shared living space, other people who arrived the same way you did and are working the same list.
House rules are written down and you read the full set before your first night, not after your first mistake. They cover quiet hours, guests, chores, respect, and what happens if something goes wrong. Second chance housing in Indianapolis only works when everybody knows the terms in advance.
On day one you meet your case coordinator and the first week’s work gets mapped out. Documents usually come first, because almost nothing else moves without them.

State ID, birth certificate, social security card. Nearly every application, job, and benefit downstream depends on these, and nobody hands them to you on the way out.

You need to know what Bridgeway takes, what it does not, how fast it answers, and whether a placement covers the period you are supervising. Straight answers below.
A privately operated supportive housing provider. Bridgeway holds no Indiana Department of Correction contract and is not a halfway house or a work release facility. Placements are voluntary arrangements between Bridgeway, the resident, and where relevant the referring agency.
Bridgeway accepts people on probation, parole, and community supervision.
Length of stay is based on individual progress and readiness. Extensions may be possible where supervision requirements run longer than the standard placement period. This is discussed during intake.
Bridgeway can arrange placement ahead of a release date so the address is confirmed before the person walks out.
Contact Bridgeway as early as possible before the release date. The sooner a request comes in, the more time there is to confirm the address before the person walks out.
Bridgeway responds to every placement request, including those where there is no current availability. If a placement is time-sensitive, note that on the request or call (317) 480-1039 directly.

Is Bridgeway a halfway house?
No. A halfway house typically operates under a Department of Correction contract as part of a sentence. Bridgeway holds no IDOC contract and is not a work release facility. Bridgeway is privately operated supportive housing that people enter voluntarily, whether they come through a referring agency or apply directly.
Do you accept people on probation or parole?

Bridgeway is unable to accept applicants with convictions involving arson, intentional property destruction, serious violence, weapons, trafficking, or sexual offenses.
